Trash Trappers’ aim was to educate participants at a multi-day event about leaving no trace, sustainability, and personal responsibility in keeping the event grounds free of litter. The Trash Trappers crew also acted as the Green Team for the event, picking up garbage four or five times per day while improvising in character and interacting with participants.
Dressed as a crew of wacky naturalists studying the trash that had moved into the area, Trash Trappers roamed the event grounds, capturing litter critters and safely sequestering them in trash bag-lined pet carriers. Participants were invited to learn about the remarkable yet invasive species (sometimes in the form of a stray beer can, sometimes a plastic bag caught in the wind) and its impact on the natural environment.
Thanks to the Trash Trappers, litter was at an all-time low in the client’s event production history.
